We practice a “learn through play” approach to learning. Play is the work of young children, and our play experiences provide the opportunities for growth and learning. From this play your child will develop physical, cognitive, social/emotional, and language skills. They will use art, blocks, books, puzzles, games, music, science, language, math, dramatic play, outdoor play, and enrichment trips to build both their minds and their bodies! We encourage children to think, reason, question, and experiment. We encourage them to play!

Here at First Presbyterian Church, we believe in Developmentally Appropriate Practice. We work with children at their developmental “age” and provide an environment that is appropriate for all individual children. Our environment is safe and nurturing for all children and adults, and we have an Open Door Policy at all times. Parents are welcome to visit, and encouraged to participate in school activities.

Per state guidelines, a time for outdoor play is provided daily, except in extreme weather conditions. Active exercise is encouraged. We also schedule quiet times for children to rest during the day. Periods of vigorous activities and quiet times will be alternately scheduled during the day.
